Nov 05, 2023 : Parish Community day was celebrated with great joy and fervor at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour on Sunday, 05th November, 2023. It truly showcased the unity and fraternity among the parishioners and built a platform for future collaboration.

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist at 9:30 AM. Msgr. Rev.Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, vicar general of Udupi Diocese presided over the celebration and Fr Denis Dsouza, the parish priest concelebrated.

In his homily Fr Ferdinand Preached on "Humility", He also said Mother Mary is the greatest example,and she was truly humble because she gave all the glory to God for everything good in her life.

A formal program was held after the mass in the parish open air hall to mark the celebration of Parish  Community Day.

The program began with YCS members invoking God’s blessings on the occasion through a prayer song. Mrs.Anitha Dsouza cordially welcomed the dignitaries present on the dias.

The occasion was honoured by the presence of Fr Denis Dsouza as its president and Msgr.Rev.Fr Ferdinand,vicar general of Udupi Diocese
as the chief guest. Mr Arun D'Silva, Vice President,Mrs Anitha Dsa, Secretary of Parish Pastoral council along with Mrs. Jacintha Dsa Coordinator of 20 commissions were also present on the dias.

The programme was inaugurated in a grand manner by Vicar General Msgr.Rev.Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves in a unique manner by blooming the arecanut flower (’bhingari’).

Msgr.Rev.Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves,  was felicitated by Rev Fr Denis Dsouza, parish priest ,on behalf of all Nirmalpadav parishioners, for his  appointment as Vicar General of udupi diocese and visiting our parish for the first time.

Msgr.Rev Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves addressed the gathering, and in his note he appreciated Parish Priest for his hardwork and dedicated service in the parish activities, he also praised the efforts of parishioners for celebrating community day as a family.

Mrs. Anitha Dsa, in her report briefed on  activities and development in the parish in the last three years .

The celebration witnessed a special event of honouring all the Vice presidents and secretaries of the parish pastoral council and the ward gurkars of five wards right from the establishment of the parish pastoral council.

Adding to it, Dr Jovita Jerome Dsilva from Sanoor ward was felicitated for being the first doctor from our parish and for her academic excellence . She thanked all the parishioners for arranging this felicitation , and also shared her experience in achieving her doctor degree.

Cultural program was arranged under the leadership of ICYM, where all five wards of the parish showcased their talents.

Delicious meal was served for all the participants of community day in the banana leaf which was prepared with love and dedication from the parishioners itself under the leadership of Rev Fr Denis Dsouza, Parish Priest.

In all, it turned out to be an historical  Parish Community Day, the sweet memories of which will be cherished forever.

Ms. Riya Dsa and Mr.Hensal Mathias compered the entire event beautifully, Mrs. Anna maria Rego gave vote of thanks at end, in total 250 parishioners were present.
