The feast of Our Lady of Assumption and 78th independence day was celebrated with great religious fervour August 15, 2024. Rev.Fr Denis D'Souza , Parish Priest celebrated the festal holy mass .

In his homily , Fr Denis highlighted the noble life and sacrifices of the mother of Jesus , it is because of her blessings that we are enjoying freedom today and it is remarkable that we are celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Assumption and our country's Independence on the same occasion.

Soon after the mass , the parishioners gathered near the church premises for the 78th independence celebration. Mr Felix Dsa , senior citizen from St Paul ward unfurled the India's pride national tricolour flag .

Rev.Fr Denis D'Souza in his presidential speech , addressed the gathering "We should be proud to be a respectable citizens of India who has the richest history in the whole world. We should serve our nation and it's our Individual duty to give something to our nation.

Mr. Arun Dsilva , vice president parish pastoral council , and Mrs Jacintha coordinator of the 18 commission were also present . Mr Hensal Mathias , Youth from ICYM compered the event. At the end sweets were distributed to the gathering.
