Feast of Assumption of Mother Mary and 77th Independence Day celebrated

Aug 15, 2023 Tuesday : The annual feast of Our Lady of Assumption was celebrated with great religious fervour on August 15 2023, at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Nirmalpadau .

Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto, director of SAMPADA udupi diocese celebrated the festal holy mass at 8:15 am along with the Parish Priest Rev. Fr Denis Dsouza.

Rev Fr.Reginald Pinto in his homily Spoke about the noble life and sacrifices of the mother of Jesus in his homily, he also said that it is because of her blessings that we are enjoying freedom today and it is remarkable that we are celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Assumption and our country’s Independence on the same occasion.

Soon after the mass, the parishioners gathered at the church premises for the inauguration of newly built flag hoisting platform in memory of late Albert D'Silva of St Theresa Ward donated by family members.

The Flag Hoisting platform was inaugurated by Mrs. Jakina D'Silva wife of late Albert D'Silva by cutting ribbon.

The Flag was hoisted by Mr. Anil and Mrs. Precilla Rodrigues [donours] daughter and son in law of late Albert D'Silva.

The Main Celebrant Rev. Fr. Reginald Pinto gave the independence day's message.

Whole programme was organised by the youth of our parish.

At the end refreshments were provided. Parish priest , Vice president and commissions co-ordinator were present.
