August 6, 2023: Family commission of Our Lady of Perpetual SuccourChurch, Nirmalapadau Celebrated Elders Day- 2023 and Feast of transfiguration of Jesus.

The Elders Day Celebration began with Holy Eucharistic at 8:30 am celebration celebrated by Rev. Fr Maxim Nazareth,OFM Cap, concelebrated by Rev Fr Denis Dsouza, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour church.

Family Commission Director Mr.Leslie Aroza who had arrived as resource person who spoke on the occasion gave a few important tips to the elders citing the responsibility that each elder person they need to take care in their health, involving themselves in the religious activities etc. Mrs. Felicia Periera Coordinator of Family Commission Compered all the event.

The programme concluded with delicious buffet lunch for the gathered served by Youth of the parish. It was a great occasion for everyone as it was a nostalgic for many participants who met after a year.

Senior Citizen club of the parish was formed , Mr Isaac Elected as president and Mrs.Lilly Dsouza appointed as Secretary of the club , the motto of this senior club is to gather occasionally and spend and share their views .

Mr. Leslie Aroza was felicitated after the mass on his completion of 10 years after appointing him as the diocesan director of family commission. Mr. Arun Dsilva vice president and Mrs. Anitha Dsa, secretary of parish pastoral council, Mrs. jacintha Dsa, coordinator of 20 commission were present.

Confession was arranged for all the elders before the mass in preparation for elders day.

In total 40 elders were present.
