Dec 25, 2017: Devotion and joy marked the celebration of Christmas all over the world. The birth of Jesus popularly known as ‘Christmas’ has been one of the important festivals in the Catholic Church. The Christmas Eve began with the Christmas Carols sung by Choir group of the parish at 6.30 p.m. Carol singing added to the festive spirit.
The Solemn festal mass commenced at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo, PU Principal of St Philomena College of Puttur celebrated the Holy Mass. Rev. Fr Vincent Lobo, Parish Priest was the concelebrant.
Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo, in his homily, called upon the Christians to mark Christmas as birth of Christ in a spirited manner with utmost faith and with real meaning of the feast.
Prior to the Mass, carols were sung led by the choir group of the church from 6.30 p.m. The Eucharistic celebrations began at 7 p.m. Churches were decorated with colorful lights and festooned with stars. At the end of the mass Christmas cake was cut which added the essence of the celebration.
