Nov 02, 2017: In Christianity, All Souls' Day commemorates All Souls, or the Faithful Departed; that is, the souls of Christians who have departed.
Nirmalapadau Parishioners observed All Souls Day at the parish Cemetery at Parapady here on November 2nd,Thursday.
Rev Fr Thomas Roshan Dsouza, Assistant Parish Priest of Hirgan Parish Celebrated the mass. The Holy mass began at 7:30 am. Rev Fr Thomas in his homily said, We should always remember the good deeds done by the departed souls when they were in this earth. We should also pray for their souls in the purgatory. Unlike other religion we too remember our departed family souls, when we celebrate any occasions .
The graves in the Parapady Cemetery were decorated with flowers and candles lit on them by the family members. Some elderly women were found decorating their husband's grave, expressions their lifelong bond.
After the mass, there was a short prayer service in the cemetery. Rev Fr Thomas offered a small prayers to the departed souls and also blessed the graves of all departed souls.
Catholic Christians observe, 'All Souls Day', in memory of the departed souls, every year on November 2.
