The Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary (MonthiFesth) celebration at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Nirmalapadav

Sept 8, 2016: The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, popularly known to be MonthiFesth was celebrated with great traditional and religious fervour. At 8.30 am the Parishioners gathered all together near out skirts of the church to offer flowers to Mother Mary. The paddycorns was blessed by Rev Fr Vincent Lobo, Parish Priest.   The parishioners took the freshly grown paddy stalks to the church in a procession as an offering of the first bounty of nature to Mother Mary

 

 

After the Blessings of corn, the Holy Eucharistic Mass was celebrated by Rev Fr Vincent Lobo, Parish Priest.  During the Homily address by Fr Vincent Lobo pointed out that Virgin Mary listened to the good news from the God almighty and she followed God throughout her life with obedience.

After the mass Rev Fr Vincent Lobo, Parish Priest of the church during announcement conveyed Monthi Fest message to parishioners as well as all well-wishers.

 

 

The well-trained, melodious choir of our Parish was surely the great highlights of this today's celebration.

After the celebration of Mass, sweets were distributed to the parishioners sponsored by well-wishers and also sugarcane were distributed.

 

 

The Monthi festh is the feast celebrated by coastal Catholics. On this solemn most impressive part of Nativity is the novena that precedes the feast – nine days of devotion involving offering of flowers to Mary by children.  

Huge number of parishioners were gathered with great devotion on this occasion.
