Easter Vigil was observed in Our lady perpetual succor church at Nirmalapadav, nitte, parapady on 26th March 2016. The faithful gathered in great numbers to attend the Easter Vigil Mass marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is followed by Easter Sunday celebration the great feast day.

Rev Fr. Vincent Lobo, parish priest led the celebration of the solemn mass at our lady perpetual succor church at Nirmalapadav. The solemn mass began at 7.00 pm. The ceremony started with the blessing of the fire outside the church. After the blessing of the fire Rev. Fr. Vincent lit the candle and with candle light procession the devotees followed by altar servers entered the church singing Easter hymn. The faithful celebrated the joy of the resurrection of Jesus Christ with the Easter Vigil Mass.

Easter Vigil, also called the Paschal Vigil is a service held in churches as the first official celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus. The Pascal candle and the holy water were blessed as part of the candlelight vigil as the vigil was conducted with the lit candles, which signifies the victory over the darkness. The Easter Vigil is the most important service of public worship and Mass of the liturgical year.

After the mass small cultural function was held at open air ground conducted by parish council members and youth members, entertained all parishioners. After the cultural events Puff and cold drinks was served to parishioners on behalf of Easter celebration 2016. After the mass the faithful exchanged greetings on the auspicious occasion of Easter.
