Palm Sunday was observed in Our Lady Perpetual Succour Church Nirmalpadav Parapady, Nittekarkal on 20th march 2016, in great reverence and devotion.
The faithful gathered near the mother mary grotto holding coconut palm leaves at 8 am. Where the palms was blessed by Rev Fr Vincent Lobo, parish priest of Nirmalpadav. Thereafter the faithful people with great devotion in procession proceeded towards the liturgical service of Palm Sunday. The mass was celebrated by rev Fr Vincent Lobo.
On Palm Sunday Christians along the world celebrate the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, the week before Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. For many Christians churches, Palm Sunday, often referred to as “Passion Sunday’ marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday. The Bible reveals that when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds greeted him by waving palm branches and covering his path with palm branches.
