The nine days novena in preparation of the Monthi Fest-2015 began on Sunday Aug 30, 2015 at Our lady of perpetual succor church Nirmalapadav, Parapady. The little children woke up early in the morning, plucked their favorite flowers from their garden and offered them to Mary after obligation mass.

The prayer ceremonies were led Nirmalapadav Our lady of perpetual succor Church Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Rev Fr Vincent Lobo with the theme “Let us love god and to our neighbor”.

After the Novena prayers were completed the children offered flowers to Mary together with the hymn ‘Moriyek Hogolshiyam…… Hogolshiyam Moriyek’ with joy and devotion. The children had brought the flowers in plates, baskets when they arrived. At the end Sweets was distributed to the children who brought flowers.

The Novena which began today on August 30 will continue similarly with offering of flowers to Mary for Nine days until September 07 and then Monti Fest will be celebrated on September 08 which comes on Tuesday this year.

 Monti Fest is a major Diocesan Catholic festival on September 08 every year. This festival celebrates the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and in the Catholic community involves blessing of Novem (new crops).
